Quit Coaching is a free smoking cessation program that helps people quit any kind of tobacco—cigarettes, chew, dip and more. It’s like personal training for quitting because a Quit Coach helps and encourages you through every stage of quitting.

Who is it for?

Quit Coaching through ASHLine is available to all Arizona residents who want to quit tobacco.

It’s ideal for those who are:

  • Just thinking about quitting
  • Getting ready to quit
  • Want to quit right now
  • Have already quit and want to maintain it

How It Works

When you call us at 1-800-55-66-222 or request to be contacted online, we match you with an experienced Quit Coach who helps you develop a Quit Plan, your customized plan to quit tobacco.

As part of your Quit Plan, you will have regularly scheduled sessions (about 1-2 per week) with your Quit Coach. You’ll decide with your coach the best time and the best way to connect.

Contact methods for Quit Coaching sessions include:

  • Phone (most common)
  • Email
  • Text

Most Quit Coaching lasts an average of 12 weeks, but can be extended to meet your needs.

About Quit Plans

When working with your Quit Coach on your Quit Plan, together you’ll plan things like setting a Quit Date, talking about using medication or NRTs, planning ways to deal with triggers and what to do if you slip.

When making a Quit Plan, you and your Quit Coach will:

  • Talk about where you’re at in wanting to quit
  • Discuss your motivations for quitting
  • Schedule upcoming coaching sessions with your coach

Who are the Quit Coaches?

Many of our Quit Coaches are former tobacco users who know what it’s like to quit. They are trained professionals who will help you customize and follow your Quit Plan. Just like a personal trainer, your Quit Coach will work with you one-on-one to keep you on track and help you make adjustments to your Quit Plan along the way.

Sign Up

  • Complete the questionnaire to be matched with a Quit Coach.
  • After completing the questionnaire, your Quit Coach will contact you within 48 hours to get to know you and to start on your Quit Plan.

Note on Privacy: We take privacy very seriously. All of your data is protected, remains anonymous and is used only for reporting and evaluation of the program as needed. Read our policy.

Work with Your Coach

  • You’ll set a schedule for regular weekly calls with your coach at times that are convenient for you.
  • Your coach will help you develop your Quit Plan.
  • Although your Quit Coach won’t be available 24/7, you can call ASHLine anytime at 1-800-55-66-222 and talk to someone who can help.
  • How long you’ll work with your Quit Coach depends on your needs. The typical length is 3-4 months.
